We are so lucky to receive kind donations from our supporters that go towards helping enrich the lives of our animals while they wait for their new family.

Many of our supporters ask what sort of consumables are the best for our animals and the things that we use the most of. If you would like to donate goods to our shelter animals, please see the below list of the things we use the most and some of the big ticket items our shelter so desperately needs.

Our animals like to play! And there is no better enrichment for them than to have a game with a staff member, volunteer, another animal or on their own. Some ideas for the best toys are:

  • Kong toys – for stuffing with delicious treats for boredom busting at bed time.
  • Rope toys, chew toys, heavy duty toys – To chew, chase, rip and throw
  • Puzzles – Our working dogs and super foodies love to test their brains with food puzzles
  • Balls – Tennis, bouncy, soccer, chew, you name it, our dogs will chase it
  • Pet-stages dogwood sticks – A safe alternative to normal sticks and our dogs love to chew these
  • Scratching posts, cat tunnels, cat cubby houses – for our felines to hide, play, scratch and jump.
  • Puzzle boxes, maze toys & pouncing toys
  • Toys with wobbly, fluttering, dangling structures – search flutterbug and you will get the idea!
  • Mice/Mouse toys, danglers and anything with a bell.

Our dogs and cats are all trained while they are with us and we go through LOTS of training treats. We also use treats to encourage chewing behaviours, clean teeth and bust boredom.

  • Pigs ears, Roo tails and Snouts
  • Liver treats, jerkey, schmackos and anything delicious for huge rewards when training
  • Greenies, DentaStix and dental treats

Our dogs and cats love to have extra bedding on their beds, some dogs chew, rip, play tug of war with and generally have a blast, but this means we go through LOTS of blankets! We are always in need of bedding and blankets, in particular:

  • Igloo beds, snuggle beds, soft beds
  • Woollen blankets, soft blankets, towels
  • Dog and cat crates
  • Hessian, sling and raised dog beds
  • Slow feeder dog bowls – this makes dinner time more fun, last longer and is more entertaining for our animals
  • Advance dog, cat, kitten and puppy dry food
  • Prime 100 dog rolls for sensitive tummies and skin
  • New litter trays & Breeders Choice Kitty Litter
  • Adaptil/Feliway collars and sprays, heat pads
  • Waterproof and fleece ranging from size medium all the way up to giant
  • Woollen knitted coats, preferably in long sizes
  • Feather doonas, sheets & pillows
  • White goods, Lounge suites, household furniture
  • Broken, old or not working appliances. No appliances
  • Prescription medication and medical supplies
  • Bean bags, mattresses, cots, prams & baby seats
