Jello

“We LOVE Jello! & pretty sure he loves us too!

The first day or 2 was a little hectic, as he was a bit boisterous & full-on, but we knew he was just trying to get used to his new surroundings. We were trying to get used to him too! It must’ve been a big change for him.. coming from the animal shelter!

Thankfully each day he has just got better & better, & he has totally made himself at home now! We’ve taken him for long walks every morning & every afternoon/evening & he is so well behaved on the lead, he walks at “heel” nicely, & we’ve even taught him to sit as we get to a road, before we cross over.

He barked & whined a little bit the first evening, but only for a few minutes & then he soon stopped. We’ve taught him to wait & not barge past us when we’re coming in or going out through a door. He’s mostly outside, especially as we both work, but when we’re home, he can see us inside easily, & he is happy just to lay out on the deck & snooze. Mark had an RDO yesterday, so he spent all day with Jello, & brung him inside & he was very well behaved.

Mark was turning the swim-spa on & Jello was up on the step watching him, next thing.. Jello jumped in! Swam around a bit then just hopped out, haha! (He can’t get in there when we’re not home, as it has a hard cover, & is fenced off).

We also got him a hard blue plastic paddle pool 1/2 filled with water & he likes to stand in that to cool off too. Jello has learnt not to go on the furniture if he is let inside, & he now knows to go on his own inside bed if he comes in.

He’s soo inquisitive & alert, & just eager to learn! He hasn’t chewed anything he’s not meant to yet, which is a relief! He’s always so happy & excited to see us & is very affectionate!

On this mornings walk.. we bumped into a group of 3 people who were walking together with 3 dogs at the park, & they allowed our dogs to all meet.

Jello was a bit jumpy & excited at first but then calmed down & they all just sniffed each other, nice & relaxed, all tails wagging.

We’re very happy with Jello, & relieved that he has settled in so well with us “
