Pearl

Pearl is a sweet and affectionate young girl who’s always up for a chat and will happily climb into your lap for a cuddle.

Though she hasn’t been properly tested with other animals, she is quite the laid-back gal and has the potential to enjoy the company of another cat or easy-going dog.

Poor Pearl has unfortunately had quite the rocky start to life, having been battling with painful sores on her neck for quite some time. Over the 6 months that Pearl has been in our care, we have been working with our vets not only to get the lesions under control, but also to find out what was causing them.

After multiple medications, topical ointments, food trials, a skin culture and even a biopsy, we were able to confirm that the lesions were forming due to an allergic dermatitis reaction, though we still weren’t sure what was causing the reaction.

On a whim, the vets suggested that we try changing Pearl’s food and water bowls from stainless steel to ceramic, and low and behold, the sores seemed to heal up almost immediately!

Though we can’t be 100% sure this mystery is solved and the lesions won’t return, Pearl is now pain and itch free for the first time in over 18 months and we think it’s about time for this sweet girl to find the loving forever home that she deserves!
