Tofik

Tofik is on the lookout for an experienced and loving person to take him under their wing. This bright, handsome boy is full of potential and is eager to find a calm, rural home where he can truly thrive.

An intelligent and switched-on young dog, Tofik loves to learn and will flourish with someone who understands working breeds—especially Border Collies. He’s happiest when his mind and body are kept busy, so his perfect match will be someone who can offer him plenty of training, enrichment, and structured activities.

Tofik isn’t a fan of car rides—he gets quite car sick—so he’s best suited to a home where he doesn’t need to travel often. No camping trips or long drives for this boy, please!

When it comes to playtime, Tofik enjoys a good game of fetch. He’ll need an enclosed yard to stretch his legs safely, as he’s not suitable for off-lead walks. His daily training routine includes:  ongoing desensitisation training to help reduce his dog reactivity and reactivity towards passing vehicles.  This also includes multiple, very short training walks and basic obedience such as: feet targeting and directional work to help him feel more relaxed around the everyday goings-on in his environment.

Tofik would much prefer a quiet country lifestyle over city living—too much hustle and bustle makes him uneasy. Though he can be a little nervous meeting new people at first, once he feels comfortable, he shows his sweet, affectionate side.

He’s still working on his social skills with other dogs, so Tofik will need to be the only pet in the home (no cats or other animals, please). He’s best suited to a household with older teens (16+) who can respect his space and help him feel at ease.
