Beautiful Ziggy is hoping that there is a loving home out there for him, that will provide him with a rewarding life – even though it might not be a long one.
Poor Ziggy was dealt an unfortunate hand in life, and was born with significant hip dysplasia in his left hip. Sadly, he is already too old for corrective surgery, which means that he will likely suffer from severe arthritis much earlier in life than most.
Ziggy will need ongoing care, including monthly arthritis injections, daily 4CYTE and supplements, and pain relief sooner rather than later, to keep him comfortable and help slow down the progress of the arthritis.
He will need an owner who understands that loving him means always putting his comfort first. Someone who will monitor his quality of life closely and, when the time comes, have the strength and kindness to make the hardest decision so he can keep his dignity and not be put through unnecessary pain.
At 19 months of age, Ziggy is a lovely young boy who has lots of energy. He is social with people and enjoys their company. He is however a big boy, and can get quite mouthy at times, so does need a bit of work on his manners. This means that he would be best suited to an adult-only home.
Ziggy can be a bit hit and miss with dogs, but gets on well and enjoys playing with the right match. Unfortunately due to his hip dysplasia, Ziggy’s exercise needs to be limited, so we think it’s best he be a single pet so he isn’t encouraged to rough and tumble play all day long.
