Senior sweetheart looking for a peaceful retirement home

At 14 years young, beautiful Maxi has found himself in the shelter, and understandably, he’s feeling a little lost and confused. After a lifetime of knowing the comforts of home, shelter life is a scary place for this gentle senior gentleman.

What Maxi needs now is simple: a quiet, warm home, a comfy bed, gentle hands, and someone to love him.

Despite his age, Maxi still has plenty of love to give. He’s a friendly little man who enjoys affection, pats and cuddles, and would love nothing more than to spend his retirement by the side of his special person or family.

Maxi is looking for a peaceful only-pet home, ideally with older children who understand that senior dogs appreciate a quieter pace of life. He isn’t asking for grand adventures — just a safe place where he can relax, feel secure and enjoy being part of a family again.

He has recently had a full dental and has been given a thorough health check. Like many dogs of his age, he does have arthritis and is currently receiving pain relief to help keep him comfortable. His new family may also wish to discuss ongoing arthritis management, including monthly injections, with their veterinarian to help Maxi remain as happy and comfortable as possible.

Maxi also finds it hard to go up and down stairs, therefore a single level home where he can access the backyard without the need to navigate steps would be ideal for him.

We don’t know how long Maxi’s next chapter will be. It could be shorter than we would like, or this determined little Jack Russell could surprise us all and have many more happy years ahead of him.
